LENSER Production

Since the company was founded, LENSER has set standards in filtration technology with a multitude of product developments. We made plastic compression molding a recognized process for the production of filter elements as well as the use of polypropylene as a versatile raw material.

Maintenance
21 employees are responsible for tool preparation for the presses, repairing the machines, and welding. Maintenance also includes a cleaning and storage area.

2

Press plant, membrane presses & chamber presses

Approximately  45 employees are employed here and work on membrane presses and chamber presses. The granulate is delivered from the adjacent silos, with which the presses are then filled. The granulate is scattered into the press with an insert frame and has to cool down for one day after processing.

3

Extruder

The respective plastic material is transported from the silos to an intermediate basin via a suction cup. There further components such as blowing agent, paint, stabilizers or regranulate are individually adapted to the order according to the customer’s wishes and mixed with it.

4

Boiler Facility
Since our decision to stop heating with heavy fuel oil, we have been operating two natural gas boilers that can produce 10 tons of steam per hour at full capacity.

5

Membrane presses

The granulate is delivered from adjacent silos and is used to fill the presses. The granulate is sprinkled into the press with the help of an insert frame and then pressed under enormous heat. After coming out of the press, the unfinished molding blank has to cool down for one day.

6

CNC
The material is machined on various 3- and 5-axis machines. Specially programmed sequences also help to produce complex shapes semi-autonomously and with a high degree of precision.

7

Regranulation
We use a regranulating machine to increase the sustainability of our production processes. The left-over polypropylene which remains in the press plant in the form of residual material, spillover during pressing, as well as the chips created during the milling process is sucked up with a vacuum and routed to a pre-buffer silo which then feeds into the regranulating machine by way of an auger. Scrap and test plates are also recycled, cut up, and fed into the machine by a conveyor belt. The chips, chunks and small pieces are shredded by a large cutter knife and pressed into an extruder auger. By applying heat and friction, the solid plastic becomes soft and can be pressed through a nozzle. Directly behind this is a knife which cuts the extruded plastic into small pellets at high speed. The regranulate thus produced falls into a cooling circuit, is transported back into a silo, and is then reintroduced in certain proportions per defined production processes.

8

Individual machining
During individual machining channels are drilled and various accessories are welded and then cleaned and assembled. This is also where the prototyping department is located, which is able to produce single pieces.

9

Membrane production
In membrane production, the membrane halves and center webs are milled on various 3-axis machines and welded on our two state-of-the-art, purpose-built welding machines. The welded membrane elements are then milled and drilled again. Accessories are mounted or welded and finished according to customer requirements.

10

Dispatch warehouse
Modern facilities and processes are the basis for efficient storage and fast delivery of the products.
